Wading into the blogger pool! I think I can swim! I think I can swim! .... I know I can swim!
I am honestly surprised I never blogged before, I love to write, I love to research, I am opinionated and I love the computer!!! Not to mention perfect lifestyle to maintain the attention of an audience!
So first off!! This blog is the fault of Amanda Brown, and the staff of the hospital! I have been on call for two days with nothing else to do!! AND NO CAKES TO BAKE!!! JK its not the staffs fault its the doctors fault for NO PATIENTS!!! Anyways lets cut to the chase!
After last weekend, my husband Cody and I have decided that I can accept business for cakes from the outside public! We did our first wedding cake... still not thrilled with that outcome! We also completed a 40lb beautifully decorated 1st Birthday Minnie Mouse cake that we were thrilled with! So Cody throws out the idea of naming our epic duo team... his first thought was PERFECT! Muffin Top! We cut the muffin top aka crown off the cakes before we tort them, and the customer earns one as they consume the high calorie sweet, so what better name for our in home extravaganza?
Just so everyone is clear. My hobby and love for cakes and baking is nothing new! I have been doing my own kids birthday cakes since Caden my oldest was 2. He will be 8 this year. His second birthday cake was well lets just say a joke. It was meant to be a farm with a barn and animals! Cody and I iced the cake that we baked in a regular 9x13 baking tin, used only 1 box of cake mix I bet! (it was super thin) and did not even level the top. We threw on some plastic Little People farm animals and a graham cracker barn (that collapsed) with a pretzel fence! We were thrilled! What surprised me then as it still does now is other people actually thought it was cute! To look back at that and then see the cakes I completed last week its no surprise I want to continue this as my hobby!
My plans for this blog
I want to include you on all my orders, give you the rundown on how many meltdowns and near disasters it took to finish the cake. You would be surprised to know this happens a lot in baking cakes, I think it will be comical and a way for me to present to you my final product without having to update on instagram, facebook, snapchat, text message! So basically the play by play (after the cake is safely in the customers possession) of how we did what we did to put the cake together! I also want to upload gallery of all my previous cakes prior to the blog.
So I would like to thank each and everyone of you reading today for attending the ribbon cutting ceremony. As today February 18, 2015 is our grand opening! I promise to make the very best tasting, looking and exciting cakes! Anyone and everyone who knows me knows I will do and become the best at anything I attempt to do!
TTFN
PS: I MADE BUSINESS CARDS!
